Remember when Lil'Tunechi was in jail, and Drizzy said as soon as Wayne got out they were going to hit the booth
and try to bang out a collab album? Yeah, scratch that.
In a recent interview with XXL, Drizzy revealed that the project has been shelved due to the controversy and comparisons that people will end of making because of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s latest effort on Watch The Throne.
“Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album,” Drake told XXL exclusively. “We just agreed that it would be looked upon as… It would be sort of this competition [with Watch The Throne]. I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. [Wayne] agreed. We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.’”
Isn’t rap about competition? Wouldn’t controversy only make it sell? What part of the game have we fast forwarded to? Oh well. “The game is the game” (c) Brother Mouzone.
At least we still have a Drake & Rick Ross mixtape to look forward to.
