It looks like Shawty Redd has dodged a major bullet in his recent legal case. News broke earlier today that the Atlanta-based producer has been acquitted of all charges in his 2010 murder case.
According to MTV, Redd was found not guilty of all charges related to last year's New Year's Day shooting of Damon Martin. After reviewing the defense's case in the trial, Judge Wade Crumbly cleared the "Sexual Eruption" producer of murder and misdemeanor charges on the grounds of that Redd acted in self-defense when he shot Martin.
"The defense [in the trial] was clearly self-defense," said Redd's attorney Ashutosh Joshi. "We argued that Redd's life was threatened both verbally and physically, and this occurred in his home and that he shot this gentleman as a result of that."
Redd was arrested on January 1, 2010 after police responded to a call placed by Redd about a physical altercation occured between him and Martin. The altercation eventually turned fatal when Redd shot and killed Martin.
