The city of brotherly love is in the middle of a pastor vs. rapper debate as Meek Mill and Reverend Jomo K. Johnson of Philly’s
Open Air church hit the radio to discuss a recent boycott against Meek’s “Amen,” an effort orchestrated by Johnson.

Words by the Reverend:
As a hip-hop fan, I want to encourage every rap fan in Philadelphia who is a believer in Jesus Christ, to boycott Meek Mill until he acknowledges this blatant disrespect. And being resident of North Philadelphia and pastor, I revoke Meek’s ‘hood pass’ until this happens.
Q Deezy brought the two to his radio show so they could air out their concerns, and ultimately come to a positive conclusion, but that was far from what happened.

Both voiced their opinions and explained their particular stances, but Meek questioned Rev. Johnson’s real motives, saying he’s in the community as much as he can providing help to those in need. Johnson accused Meek of having rape-related lyrics and quoted Bible verses in hopes to get through to him. But Meek was too fired up.

After a few minutes of their back-and-forth and a few questions from Q Deezy, it was clear the two would not come to an agreement on anything, so the talk got cut short.
