Earlier today, Rockstar Games announced the next installment in their GTA Series;Grand Theft Auto 5 will be launching worldwide next spring 2013 for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360.

Game: Grand Theft Auto V
Release: Spring 2013
Platforms: PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360
Publisher: Rockstar Games
Developer: Rockstar North

The game is expected to be set in present day So-Cal as seen from the previews we’ve been doing over the past few months below as it’s returning back to our favorite city in the series, Los Santos. Sparing from Los Santos and miles beyond, the action will spill all the way to the top of mountains as well as the depths of the ocean.

Starting this Monday, November 5th, GTA V will be available for pre-order everywhere.
Also be on the lookout for the December issue of the Game Informer coming three days later on November 8th which will feature an 18-page spread with all new never before seen screens along with new information for the upcoming sandbox title.

This comes as shock to me as I’m still doubts of the game being finished and polished to release in Spring before e3 without any major gaming problems and not releasing on PC on day one is pretty awful for that community as well.

In the past, Take-Two’s been known to make the major announcements at e3 for the game to start the hype-train like seen when Peter Moore revealed his tattoo in 2006 and the exclusive gameplay trailer in 2007 that had everyone talking with the exclusive timed-episode announcement.
If there was any game that could release at any given time and still put up mega-blockbuster numbers, it’s the GTA series but I’m having doubts for its release after rumblings within the industry of the game not being close to completion.
The good news for Take-Two is that they have a launch window already announced before next year to have to themselves before the big games of next year like Watch Dogs, The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite launch to name a few.
