Like if a million units moved via the Samsung app wasn’t enough, Jay-Z has gone on to roughly break the 525,000 mark in sales for Magna Carta Holy Grail in his first week, toppling the competition and cruising on to victory and his 12th #1 album.
This would bring his total sales in one week above 1.5 million (if Billboard counts the first millie), and supreme domination. While details on official numbers are still sketchy, Hov had an impressive week in retail, showing that #NewRules are indeed in place.

Ciara’s self-titled album didn’t stand a chance this week, while J. Cole’s album moved down two spots from #1 last week, to #3 this week. Official Soundscan numbers drop tomorrow.
In related Jay-Z MCHG news, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (a privacy group) is calling FTC to investigate the Samsung Holy Grail app.
