Four weeks after the 2013 off-season’s biggest trade which landed Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets; the three were formally introduced to the team yesterday.
It was an emotional day for Pierce who would be hanging up the signature green Celtic jersey he had worn his entire career of 16 years playing, to transition into a new situation.
Boston Celtics president Danny Ainge felt the tenures for Pierce and KG as franchise players were over, with the two dealing with injuries the last few seasons. Joining Brook Lopez, Deron Williams, and Joe Johnson on the Nets; the two will be diminished to role players, which was the best situation for all parties involved.

Like Stephen A. Smith prophesied 2 years ago, for the next two seasons, Brooklyn is an elite team in the NBA and a serious threat to the Miami Heat next year having arguably the best starting 5 in the game and improved bench of Andrei Kirilenko, Mason Plumlee, Shaun Livingston, and 6th man Jason Terry.

In the interview after the jump, Pierce and KG sit down with Jackie McMullan for a SC conversation to discuss how hard it was to be forced out of Boston and the future playing for the Brooklyn Nets with their friend/head coach Jason Kidd.
