According to Yahoo Sports (and multiple inside NBA sources in the words of Chris Broussard), The Indiana Pacers have locked up their team captain Paul George to a multi-year extension.
The deal expected to be finalized later this week, ensures George will continue to develop his game in Indy before his prime years begin in a few seasons.

Paul staying with the Pacers is no shock to many of us, which he announced to the Indianapolis Star last week he would sign a long-term deal be the start of the 2014 season. Just last year, George became the NBA’s Most Improved Player seeing his points-per-game total rise to nearly 20 a game and also helped lead the Pacers to within one of the NBA Finals losing to the champion Miami Heat.

Now that the Pacers have George and Roy Hibbert locked up to long-term extension, the big elephant in the room is Danny Granger. We’re expecting the Pacers to trade Danny around this February’s trade deadline for hopefully a quality point guard, before his eventual destination of purple and gold next summer.

Over the summer, the Pacers lost both Tyler Hansbrough and D.J. Augustin to free agency but upgraded with acquisitions of C.J. Watson and Luis Scola.
