In the midst of taking on a number of tour dates in the UK, J. Cole decided to give a thorough breakdown of his track titled “Rich Niggaz,” which happened to appear on the second half of his sophomore album, Born Sinner.
The Roc Nation artist explained how it was one of the last records he recorded for the project, along with “Villuminati” and “Forbidden Fruit.” After finding the perfect sample, Cole cooked up a simple beat with a bounce, kick and a snare, with his late night writing leading onto the first line inspiring the rest of the song’s subject matter.
