According to multiple inside sources, LeBron James will reportedly use his early termination option to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
This comes a week following his NBA Finals loss to the San Antonio Spurs and 48 hours before this Thursday’s NBA Draft.

He now joins Carmelo Anthony as the next superstar to officially opt-out and start his last primed summer free agency. The Akron, Ohio native was set to make 20.6 million for the 2015 season, as part of his 6-year $109.8 million contract, but showed today that money is no issue.

Following their loss, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh expressed their willingness to remain with the Heat, while LeBron was optimistic about the future and his time in Miami. This prompted Team President Pat Riley to address the big 3 last week during a televised press conference, basically hinting at the fact that no team wins every year and pleaded for them to give him time to upgrade the roster.
While there was no mention of rebuilding, LeBron James will be 30 this December and is looking to surround himself around young talent to take the burden off his shoulders we witnessed in 2014. Shane Battier has already retired and Ray Allen is envisioning himself hanging it up following his media addressing last week.

LeBron James' agent Rich Paul has told Heat LeBron will exercise early termination option

The big elephant in the room over the last year has been a potential return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, which has been hinted at wanting Bron Bron back numerous times. With the team only a few days removed from hiring Euro-coach David Blatt as their new head coach, the Cavs already have young talent in Kyrie Irving and likely number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins. LeBron originally had until next week to make his decision, but is already putting intense pressure on Pat Riley and Dan Gilbert to act fast with roster adjustments and future plans for each organization. It will all unravel rather fast so stay tuned for more on LeBronmania.
