Last spring, Dr. Dre became the first ever billionaire in hip-hop, following the sale of his Beats By Drebrand to Apple Inc. for a whopping $3.2 billion.
Ironically, this was a direct follow-up to FORBES “Wealthiest Hip-Hop Earners” for 2014, where the Compton pioneer finished second to Sean “Diddy” Combs.

With the year approaching its 4th quarter, the annual Cash Kings reveal arrives and to no surprise has a large gap from Mr. NWA and the rest of his competition. The sale of Beats Music to Apple earned Dr. Dre a $620 million totaling of revenue for the year thus far, with JAY Z and Diddy behind very far at only $60 million.

From June 2013 to June 2014, the list was generated through touring, record sales, publishing, merchandise sales, and endorsements among many more stats. Jigga earned his highest totaling since 2010, highlighted by his growing Roc Nation empire, On The Run Tour, D’Ussé cognac andMagna Carta Holy Grail that went to become certified platinum. Puffy, who also finished tied at no. 2 saw success over the last 12 months with the launch of his REVOLT TV, Diageo’s Ciroc vodka, Sean John clothing, and DeLeon tequila among other ventures.
