If you’ve been watching Tyga’s career in recent years, it’s no secret that there may have been some miscommunications with his major label YMCMB.
Last year, rumors even fueled more when there was a lack of label mates featured on his Hotel California album; most notably Nicki Minaj, Drake and Birdman.
Following an appearance alongside Tunechi on Chris Brown’s hit-single “Loyal” earlier this year, that eased rumors for the time being – but there was still speculation for the future and beyond involving the Compton rapper and his N.O.L.A. based label. Last September, Tyga released the first single “Wait For A Minute” with Justin Bieber serving as the pilot offering to his fourth studio album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty.

Gold album been done. my label holding me hostage so i can't release nothing. might just leak it for my fans then let them make $ off it.

With legends Kanye West and Mike Dean helming executive producer roles, many were under the impression his roll-out would happen over the summer – but that wasn’t the case. After taking to twitter to vent his new album had been sealed and submitted to his label, that prompted YMCMB president Mack Maine to voice his two cents on the messy situation. Tyga sat-down with VIBE to discuss his label issues, opening up on personal relationships with Drake, Nicki Minaj and why he’s planning to exit one of the biggest music staples ever.

Don't forget about puttin limes in coconuts!!! What you "rep" didn't make you or build you!!
I’m tryna’ go independent. I don’t really get along with Drake. I don’t really get along with Nicki. I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda’ like we were forcing relationships together. It is what it is. But I been friends with Chris [Brown] for like six years. That’s my real genuine friend. We hang out all the time. He lives up the street from me, so we don’t just do music we hang. I think being signed to Young Money, everybody felt like they had to force a relationship ‘cause Wayne put us together. At the end of the day the reason why I signed to Young Money is because of Wayne. Not because of Drake, not because of Nicki. It was because of Wayne and my relationship with him. I try to be cool with everybody, but sometimes, everybody just has different personalities, motives, and different characters. When you realize that, you realize that’s not a place where you want to continue to grow.
