The world has been curious about what Lil Wayne meant ever since he sent out those infamous tweets about his label, Cash Money Records, and boss Birdman.
Up until now, he hasn’t said much besides the fact that the label owes him money and he wants out, but most of this, fans had to find out about it through a lawsuit and court documents.
In talking to Rolling Stone, he still remained pretty much mum on his current legal battles, but
Lil Wayne has been one of Cash Money’s flagship stars since he signed with the label at age 12, and for years he saw Williams as a father figure, frequently dubbing himself “Birdman Jr.” on record. But that relationship has broken down, perhaps irreparably. Wayne tells Rolling Stone that he and Birdman are no longer on speaking terms. “I have no words,” he says. “I’m super-numb to it, to tell you the truth.”
He goes on to say Tha Carter V is done, but since that album is held up for ransom at the moment, he is super focused on The Free Weezy Album. Even though he has contemplated a retirement from music, he does admit he doesn’t know what the kids are on when looking at Instagram, asking his daughter about the terms he sees on there.
