After pleading guilty last December of failing to pay taxes totaling past $1M from 2007-2008; Joseph ‘Fat Joe’ Cartagena was sentenced today in a federal court in Newark, New Jersey.
He was facing up to two years behind bars today, but Joey only received 4-months after a plea in the court systems.

The government threw allegations he failed to pay income taxes from 2007-2010, costing an estimation just of $718,038; which he informed U.S. Magistrate Cathy Waldor he’d pay back in full. There’s no date regarding when Joe will officially start his prison term, but we’re assuming it’ll be rather sooner than later to avoid missing the holidays with family.
