Yesterday Billboard gave the internet a sneak preview of their upcoming issue with Drake on the cover.
Today they released an excerpt of their interview with the Toronto rapper and it was very interesting. Drizzy spoke on his fame and of course talked a lot about his upcoming album Nothing Was The Same, which hits stores on September 24.
The most riveting part of the interview was when Drake was asked about his thoughts on Kendrick Lamar‘s now famous verse on Big Sean’s “Control.” Drake did not hold anything back in his response and was crystal clear with his thoughts.‪
“I didn’t really have anything to say about it,” Drake says of the verse, which has so far inspired responses from A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$, former Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson and too many others to count. “It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick’s not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic.”
‬That is a pretty clear response if we say so. Hopefully this doesn’t cause any sort of riff going into the future between the two.
